Below is a brick fireplace 6' x 19' high that was faced with 20" x 20" porcelain tile. First I built out the bottom base to give the fireplace some scale. Since the brick was not painted it was in ideal condition to accept the mortar for a secure bond. I did burn in or spread mortar on the bricks as well as back butter each tile. I used a mortar bag or cake decorator to apply the grout. This project took 62 hrs in 8 days to complete.
